Buy a yacht in San Diego.
Tell me how you’ll use the boat, your budget and when you hope to buy. I’ll help you compare boats, arrange viewings and negotiate a purchase. I’ve worked with first-time buyers, owners upgrading and buyers starting a charter business.
Find a boat that fits how you’ll use it.
For a first boat, I’ll help you compare size, layout and ownership costs. If you’re upgrading, tell me what you like about your current boat and what you wish it did differently. Bring up charter plans early so we can account for them in the search.
Look at the ownership costs too.
I’ll help you compare the asking price with the boat’s condition, service history and equipment. Leave room in your budget for inspections, insurance, storage and work needed after purchase.
- Send me the current listings you’d like to see.
- Ask for service records, equipment details and recent photos.
- Arrange the appropriate inspections before making your purchase decision.
Check where you’ll keep it.
A boat can fit your budget and still be difficult to berth. Before you commit, ask the marina about the actual length, beam and draft, your intended use and the proposed arrival date. Get the costs and any transfer arrangements confirmed directly.
Choose the right people for the inspection.
I can help coordinate the purchase. An independent marine surveyor assesses condition within the scope you agree with them. Check your lender’s or insurer’s requirements early and confirm the inspection terms in your purchase agreement.
Questions before you start.
Do I need to choose a boat before contacting you?
No. Send me your intended use, budget, preferred size and timing. We can narrow the search together.
Does a broker replace a marine surveyor?
No. My role is to help with the purchase. You choose an independent surveyor to assess the boat within a written scope of work.
Can you help with a boat that isn’t listed here?
Send me the listing link and what you’re looking for. We can discuss representation and availability. This site shows the boats currently published by SoCal Yacht Brokers.
